Word reading strategies for all students

Get them reading words

Hey Reader!

This week's email focuses on word reading strategies, and has some great freebies with easy activities you can use to enhance your word work.

Happy January 147th! This month is seriously the LONGEST month every year, and it's definitely hitting me hard. Hopefully where you are you're surviving the cold, snow, and extreme weather so much of the country has been seeing.

This week, let’s talk about ways to incorporate multisensory learning into your classroom, especially when it comes to word reading skills.

Research proves that the more senses we can incorporate into a lesson or activity, the better the outcomes for our students.

Think about it: when we not only read and write words but use manipulatives, tactile experiences, visual supports, and more, we strengthen those neuron connections because our brain is receiving more input about what we're doing.

Engage students, see better outcomes, and build confidence in your students. Start today!

Another great resource for multisensory teaching: check out this blog post I just published with additional ideas! Easy-to-incorporate, low- or no-cost, and you'll get big returns in student growth!

10 Simple Strategies

Easy ways to change up your classroom activities for deeper learning. Low-prep or no-prep!

And finally, I have our three TPT giftcard winners from the raffle! They are: Priya K., Kelleo O., and Lori W.! Check out the post here with the drawing!

See you next week!

Hi! Welcome to The Real-Life Teacher.

I'm a been-there-done-that teacher. I've been a public educator for over 13 years fighting for scraps to pay my bills. I've stayed up late nights and early mornings working on a side hustle to make ends meet. I'm a transitioned teacher who found happiness, wealth and success outside of the classroom. If any of these resonate with you, we should connect. I share all of my been-there-done-that tips, tricks, tools and resources to help educators in and out of the classroom spark passion and joy, no matter where you are headed. Welcome.
